Title: Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries

Purpose: to cultivate the Christian discipleship of Sunday School through High School Youth and families by providing opportunities for them to connect with God and neighbor, grow in Christ with others, and serve the world.

The candidate will be expected to show commitment to the following:

  • Align all activities with the mission of Cross of Hope
  • Personal and spiritual growth in Christ
  • Understanding and theology of the ELCA
  • A willingness to invest time and energy into the community of Cross of Hope


  • Experience in education or ministry setting
  • Strong background in Biblical knowledge
  • Post-Secondary Theological Education preferred

  • Strong communication skills – both speaking and writing
  • Effective interpersonal and relational skills – strengths in empathy, encouragement, and listening
  • Ability to articulate faith and Biblical concepts in age appropriate ways
  • Desire to create cohesive and consistent age group programs attentive to intentional transitions between age groups
  • Understand the importance of exemplifying and teaching appropriate personal/professional boundaries with youth and families
  • Ability to work flexible hours

Part Time – 30 hours per week average
Full Time  – 40 hours per week average – with expanded responsibilities depending on candidate’s strengths/skills.
